How to sign in to Hostelworld Inbox

  1. 1

    Go to inbox.hostelworld.com

You'll need your property number (also the first part of your booking reference numbers), your username and your password.

  2. 2

New property? Get credentials from onboarding first

New listings sign up through business.hostelworld.com; Hostelworld's own team sets up your first login after reviewing your property details.

  3. 3

    Forgot your password?

Use the reset option on the sign-in page.

Why there's no self-serve channel manager menu

No connectivity-provider setting to click

Unlike Booking.com or Agoda, Hostelworld doesn't let owners switch on a channel manager from inside Inbox.

You email support instead

Ask Hostelworld support to connect Channex to your property. They confirm by email once it's enabled, usually with the property details needed to finish setup.

Once connected, edit from one place

Hostelworld's own guidance is that manual rate and availability changes inside Inbox should stop once a channel manager is managing that property, so the two don't overwrite each other.

Two things that work differently on Hostelworld

Per-bed pricing

  • Rates in Inbox are set per person, per night — even for private and double rooms, not per room
  • A channel manager sending a per-room price needs to divide it by occupancy before it reaches Hostelworld

Deposit and balance

  • Guests typically pay a deposit to Hostelworld at the time of booking, and the balance to the property at check-in
  • Some bookings run on a model where Hostelworld collects the full non-refundable amount and transfers it to you on its own schedule — check your own contract for which applies to you

Where Prime Host fits in

One calendar, Hostelworld included

Once Hostelworld support has approved the connection, its bookings sit in the same calendar as Booking.com, Agoda, Expedia and your direct site.

Read-back on every update

A success response isn't treated as done — the value is read back from the channel before it's marked confirmed.

OTA reference kept on every booking

So you can still check a Hostelworld booking against Inbox yourself.

Frequently asked questions

What is the Hostelworld extranet?

Hostelworld's own back-office dashboard, called Inbox, at inbox.hostelworld.com — used for bookings, rates, property setup and messages.

Can I switch on a channel manager myself in Hostelworld?

No — unlike Booking.com or Agoda, there's no self-serve setting. You email Hostelworld support and ask them to connect it for you.

Why are Hostelworld rates per bed instead of per room?

Hostelworld's pricing model is per person, per night, even for private rooms — a holdover from its dorm-bed roots that still applies hostel-wide.

How does the deposit work on Hostelworld?

Guests usually pay a deposit to Hostelworld when they book, and the balance to the property at check-in — though some bookings run on a different collection model, so check your own contract.

Can I still edit rates manually in Inbox after connecting a channel manager?

Hostelworld's guidance is to stop manual edits once a channel manager is managing the property, so the two don't overwrite each other.
